A bar / night club that had at one point had operating hours between 6pm and 4am and hosted feature dancers such as "Princess Yasmina" enticing you to "Spend the evening in the fantasy of the Arabian Nights...be a Caliph, or a Sultan..at Kismet" In 1963, Kismet tested the state's liquor laws bringing a suit to the superior court alleging that the city was illegally enforcing it's "clear-view" requirement which says that bars without a restaurant license must provide a full view of their facilities from the street.
These matchbooks arrive here at Jerry’s Vintage Trading from large, well cared for collections from all over the U.S. - where the collector had the foresight decades ago to preserve the original look and feel of what are now 50, 60 and in some cases 70+ year old treasures of graphic and cultural history - by not stripping out the matches.
