Welcome to my listing for:
New York & Pennsylvania Railroad RY July 7 1917 Whitesville Ticket #5222
The New York and Pennsylvania Railroad 1894-1917 (for passenger service) was plagued in its latter years by multiple 1916-17 flooding damages, which also affected service for several large nearby businesses that, in turn depended on the line for freight business and eventually went out of business, which combined with the ever depleting volume of lumber, coal and other natural resources, it was announced on 11/30/17 the suspension of all operations would go into effect the following day. Although afterwards, some of the freight service was restored, the entire operation ended in 1935. December 1, 1917 was the end of passenger service. The ticket in this listing are from the final months just before the end of passenger service.
On very thin, (almost paper) card stock with a security under print. Showing only minor wear from use and handling consistent with its age. A vertical fold crease at center. Elsewhere, no major issues to note. Very clean throughout. Eye-catching clear ink stamp on the reverse. Overall, in good to very good condition. You will receive the exact ticket shown in the photos. Will display well in your collection. It measures approx. 2" x 3 1/4"
This will ship securely inside a poly sleeve, sandwiched with cardboard, in a rigid mailer via USPS Ground Advantage service with a tracking number. The shipping cost for the first purchase is $4.00 and no extra cost for additional tickets / stubs - or similar items that can be shipped in the same package.
