Large 1893 Chicago Fair Trade Card O.N.T. Clark's Cotton Needles Threads Crochet
From approximately 1880 through 1900, trade cards were all the rage and highly collected. This card was specially designed for, and intended to be given out to fairgoers on-site at the 1893 World's Fair held in Chicago - or locally at the 1,000's of merchant's retail locations nationwide in celebration of the fair. Although the fair ran for 6 months and many of these cards were distributed, the quantities of these World Fair cards made pale in comparison to more common varieties that often featured stock artwork and could be kept in stock for years at a time as they were seldom dated.
Showing signs of wear, age, use and handling. Small slight top left corner fold crease. All text is 100% legible. No tears or fold creases. Minor scrapbooking adhesive remnants on reverse. Overall, clean and has retained most of it's original sheen. In good to very good condition. It measures approx. 4 5/8" x 7" You will receive the exact example in the photos.
