*James A. Bill was a prominent figure in New London County agricultural activity in the 1870s and 1880s. In 1880, he won several agricultural and livestock awards at the state fair that year and was also named fish commissioner. Later in 1890 he was elected president of the New London County Agricultural Society.
This check is part of a large, well cared for group of 40 or so from the same year - unsearched to check and point out any important names.
Showing minor signs of wear and handling consistent with its age. Expected fold creases from posting are slight, if any. Light, if any toning / staining. Has a clean cut cancel near center. No major issues to note. Eye-catching imprinted revenue stamp. Mostly very clean throughout. Will display well in your collection. Overall, in very good condition.
