*Day County, Oklahoma Territory was short lived from 1892 to 1907, though had eventful existence. The Courthouse burned, cattlemen dueled over water rights, there was lynching and feuding between free-grass and herd law proponents and tornado! By citizen's petition, 1907 legislators divided the county along the Canadian River, the north half merged with newly formed Ellis County, the south half became part of Roger Mills County.
Showing only minor signs of wear consistent with its age. Expected fold creases from posting. Small triangular cut cancel hole near center. Round stain near bottom edge right. No tears or loss. All text are legible. Eye-catching mixed bold type faces / fonts. Overall, in good to very good condition. Will display well in your collection. It measures approx. 2 7/8" x 7"
