This little piece opens slightly along the bottom to insert the tip of a quill pen to dab off excess ink - sort of like a blotter. Fun to handle - it's soft fiber absorbent material in the middle feels like a modern foam toy when you squeeze it in the middle.
Showing only minor signs of wear, age or handling consistent with it's age. There are tiny pin hole sized depressions just under the top edge. The "spine" at the top is in good condition with no separations or cracks. The thin celluloid is still pliable. Edges are clean. No folds, creases, tears, loss, stains or other issues to note. Overall, in good to very good condition. You will receive the exact example shown in the photos. It measures approx. 2" x 3 3/4"
