Welcome to my listing for:
Erda & Co.1897 Long Island City, NY 4pp. Letterhead to Daimler Motor / Steinway
On 29 September 1888, piano manufacturer William Steinway established the Daimler Motor Company on Long Island, New York. Thus began the history of Daimler in North America, 125 years ago – just two years after the birth of the automobile. The aim was to produce stationary and marine engines in the United States according to a patent owned by Gottlieb Daimler. Source: group-media.mercedes-benz.com
The pages here appear to be for construction work related to the Steinway / Daimler buildings. All pages are in very good condition and contain copious detail with many break-downs of costs. On the reverse of the last page, there is a list of amounts for a total of roughly $14,000 worth of work done.
Condition: 4 pages, bound by a brass fastener are showing only minor signs of age, use and handling consistent with it's age. Expected fold creases from posting. No tears or loss. Eye-catching header typography and clean even penmanship. In very good condition. Will display well in your collection. You will receive the exact example as seen in the photos. Each page measures approx.8 3/8" x 13 5/8"
