Welcome to my listing for:
E.A. Saunders & Sons Wholesale Grocers Richmond, VA Letterhead Geo. E. Wear 1892
George E. Wear (1847-1908) was a retail merchant located in Mineral, VA - which up until 2010, never held a population greater than 500, and was the center of gold mining activity in Louisa County. At one point, there were as many as 15 gold mines operating within a 2 mile radius of this town. This sheet is part of a large collection of billheads, letterheads and covers that just came to market with a connection to Mr. Wear and the products he purchased to offer for sale to his customers. Some of the billheads and letterheads are addressed to Mr. Wear in Sulphur Mines, a town nearby Mineral.
Condition: Showing only minor signs of age, use and handling consistent with it's age. Expected fold creases from posting. Staining - mostly along the left fold crease. Edges and corners are crisp. 100% of the printed text is legible. Clean, even handwriting. Eye-catching large building illustration that includes horse led wagons transporting barrels. In good condition. Will display well in your collection. An excellent framing candidate. You will receive the exact example as seen in the photos. It measures approx. 5 3/8" x 8 3/8"
