*Richard C. Halliday went to Montana in the early 1880s and for a time was a passenger conductor for the Utah and Northern Railroad. In 1885 he established a wholesale liquor operation in Dillon, Montana which as late as 1890, was one of only two in the young city. Halliday operated it until 1896. He was active in the community having been a manager of the town’s baseball team before 1890, was nominated for alderman in 1887. Some of the goods Halliday supplied included beer, whiskey, lemonette, cigars, cigarettes, and occasionally rum, gin, sherry, blackberry, smoking tobacco, and cigarette papers. According to an 1889 newspaper ad, he manufactured his own line of Ginger Ale, Birch Beer, Champion Cider, Sarsaparilla & “other carbonated beverages” and was an agent for W.J. Lemps Beer. His retail store was located on Bannack Street, opposite the Men’s clothing store, “Hammer & Moore”
Wavy tear along the entire left edge. Otherwise, barely any signs of wear or handling consistent with its age. No other major tears, folds, creases or paper loss. All text are legible. Eye-catching mixed bold type faces / fonts. Clean and in good to very good condition. You will receive the exact sheet shown in the photos. It measures approx. 8 1/2" x 9 1/4"
