A listing in the 1901-1904 San Francisco City Directory: Paul B. Bernhard & Co., rubber stamps, engraving, etc., 512 Montgomery. He was also listed in the 1907-08 directory. In a 1907 newspaper article, it was reported that Mr. Bernhard was arrested for soliciting without a license. When taken to the police station by an officer, he refused to take out a license and was held in default of a $25 bail.
