Glover, Warner & Clarke was a prominent general store located in Sandy Hook, CT. It is believed that the store opened in the same year as this letterhead. as many general stores did at the time, GW&C's store soon became a central part of the town. The Glover family traces their roots to colonial Connecticut when John Glover, in his 20's arrived at Boston from England in 1636 and lived most of his life in New Haven. Condition: Showing minor signs of age, use and handling consistent with it's age. Expected fold creases from posting. uneven tear-off at bottom. Small edge notch at bottom right corner. Light top right edge stain near the word "Wilson" No tears or loss. Edges and corners are crisp. 100% of the printed and written text is legible. Eye-catching mixed header typography. In good to very good condition. Will display well in your collection. An excellent framing candidate. You will receive the exact example as seen in the photos. It measures approx. 7" x 8 3/8"
